Bird Marella attorneys Gary Lincenberg and Michael Landman discuss their historic defense victory on behalf of Stephen Chamberlain, Autonomy’s former vice president of finance, in the White-Collar Crime 2024 Global Practice Guide for Chambers and Partners in an article titled, “Eulogy of an Acquittal: I am an Innocent Man.”
Considered “the best in their field,” Mr. Lincenberg and Mr. Landman offer insight and key strategies on how their formidable defense team (which also included Bird Marella attorney Ray Seilie) won acquittal of all federal charges in what prosecutors dubbed “California’s largest criminal fraud trial ever.” They also provide a comprehensive overview of the current state of white-collar crime in California, highlighting the challenges and developments in the practice area.
The article is a tribute to Mr. Chamberlain, co-defendant Mike Lynch, co-counsel Chris Morvillo, and several others who tragically lost their lives in short succession in August 2024.
