Bird Marella is proud to announce that former Department of Justice Trial Attorney Michael C. Landman has joined the firm.
Mr. Landman comes to Bird Marella from the U.S. Department of Justice’s Tax Division in D.C., where he prosecuted criminal tax cases, including multiple trials, across the western United States.
While working for the DOJ, Mr. Landman oversaw criminal tax prosecutions from initial investigations through jury verdicts and appeals. He was also detailed to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia, where he tried 15 cases to verdict.
Mr. Landman earned consecutive awards for his track record on many high-stakes prosecutions and investigations. He has investigated and prosecuted cases involving tax evasion, money laundering, mail and wire fraud, conspiracy, and aggravated identity theft.
“Michael’s experience as a prosecutor in the Department of Justice handling complex tax, fraud, and money laundering issues makes him the perfect addition to our firm,” said principal Gary Lincenberg. “We are excited to bolster our criminal trial practice with his insight and track record.”
Mr. Landman states, “I am thrilled to be joining Bird Marella, where I look forward to using my experience as a prosecutor in DOJ’s Tax Division to contribute to the firm’s thriving and nationally-renowned white collar criminal defense practice. Given my experience in the courtroom, I am particularly happy to be joining a firm with a deep bench of experienced trial attorneys.”
