Bird Marella principals Ekwan Rhow and Timothy B. Yoo are featured on the cover of Legal Times, Korea’s preeminent legal publication.
The July 2023 cover story describes Mr. Rhow and Mr. Yoo as Korean American trial lawyers with a deep understanding of Korean corporate culture. When asked about the secret to winning many cases involving Korean clients, the duo credited Bird Marella’s “unique collaborative structure and strategy” and two decades of representing Korean companies in U.S. trial courts.
The Legal Times also highlighted Mr. Rhow as a name principal ranked in Chambers and Partners, detailing his specialty in trial work, international arbitration, and successful class action practice, including his recent $92 million settlement on behalf of TikTok users. In 2022, the Legal Times recognized Bird Marella among the “Best Law Firms in Korea” for Korean companies. Notably, Bird Marella was one of only a handful of the 54 profiled firms without a physical office in Seoul and the only firm without an office in the Asia-Pacific region.
