Bird Marella is proud to announce the elevations of Julia B. Cherlow to principal, Marc E. Masters to senior counsel, and Ray S. Seilie to counsel, effective January 1, 2021.
Since joining the firm as an associate in 2018, Julia Cherlow has brought extensive litigation experience in a wide array of practice areas including entertainment, malpractice, employment, business torts, class actions, and intellectual property. Cherlow earned her J.D. from Stanford Law School, where she served as the Managing Editor on the Stanford Journal for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties and litigated several complex employment and housing disputes with the Stanford Community Law Clinic.
Marc Masters has been with the firm since 1999 and previously served as of counsel. Masters focuses his practice on complex business disputes in federal and state courts and has expertise on matters involving the False Claims Act, intellectual property, breach of contract, and commercial fraud. He has significant experience representing clients at trial, in arbitration and in parallel civil/criminal investigations.
Previously serving as an associate since 2016, Ray Seilie’s practice focuses on complex commercial litigation across a breadth of substantive areas including technology, securities, education, banking, and finance. He is also highly experienced representing clients in criminal matters, including criminal trials and pre-indictment investigations, during which he has provided compliance-related legal advice, conducted factual investigations, and prepared presentations to the government.
