Bird Marella principal Ariel A. Neuman was interviewed by the Daily Journal regarding the nomination of McGregor W. Scott as U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of California. Neuman commented that this first U.S. attorney nomination in California by the Trump administration “is not a pick from left field. He appears by all accounts to be a very appropriate pick, and so hopefully the ones that come down the pipe are as well. Having experience in the public and private sectors is a significant asset for a U.S. attorney. To really do the job correctly … you really need to understand the perspective of the defendant and of the defense counsel.”
