Bird Marella partner Julia Cherlow is named among the Los Angeles Business Journal’s 2024 list of Women of Influence: Attorneys. The annual supplement honors the region’s most influential legal professionals who display “exceptional legal skill and achievement” and leadership in the Los Angeles community.
Ms. Cherlow is recognized for her impressive success in high-profile entertainment litigation and high-stakes complex commercial trials, such as her 2022 jury trial victory for healthcare apparel and lifestyle brand FIGS in a widely publicized nine-figure false advertising trial.
Notably, she represents actor-producer Brad Pitt and his company in highly publicized, multi-jurisdictional lawsuits against Angelina Jolie and others concerning the ownership of Cháteau Miraval, the phenomenally successful French winery and home of Miraval rosé wine.
She also co-authored the profit participation chapter in the 2023-2024 edition of Entertainment Law & Litigation for LexisNexis, one of the most highly regarded legal treatises on entertainment issues, memorializing her standout experience in the entertainment industry.
In addition to her legal practice, Ms. Cherlow devotes significant time to non-profit work, including as a member of the Leadership Empowerment and Development (LEAD) Program at the American Friends of Hebrew University, a Board Member of the Western Center for Law and Poverty, and, in connection to her background as a former ballerina, on the Board of Directors for the LA Dance Project.
