Following ten years of a successful practice at Bird Marella, Aparna rejoined the firm in 2021 after gaining invaluable experience serving as in-house counsel for companies across Southern California, including Taco Bell Corp., where she managed both arbitration and litigation labor and employment matters. While serving as in-house counsel for Taco Bell, not only did she oversee the employment related matters for all company owned restaurant locations across the United States, but she also served as Product Counsel establishing a national legal strategy on the procurement of liquor licenses, the management of regulatory issues, and implementation of their national biometric data retention program in compliance with the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
Aparna earned her J.D. at Santa Clara University School of Law, specializing in intellectual property law, and was a recipient of the CALI Award of Excellence in Law and Social Justice in addition to the Pro Bono Award for two consecutive years. She is also a member of the South Asian Bar Association of Southern California and has native-level fluency in Hindi.
