Bird Marella principal Jeremy D. Matz spoke as a featured panelist at the Securities & Exchange Commission’s Joint Regulatory Conference in Los Angeles (June 3, 2014).
The conference is a prestigious annual gathering of securities regulators, prosecutors, and law enforcement agents from a wide array of federal, state, and foreign governmental agencies. Mr. Matz was invited to participate based on his deep experience in private practice, as a federal prosecutor, and as a law professor. Speaking on a panel devoted to “Enforcement and Examination Risk Strategies,” he discussed cybersecurity threats to publicly traded companies, recent law enforcement successes in the fight against cybercrime, and the increasing internationalization of securities fraud.
